I
was 46 when I was diagnosed with breast cancer. To say that it was
the scariest moment of my life would be an understatement.
With
faith and family, I got through a full mastectomy, chemotherapy,
and hair loss. Life will never quite be the same. This experience
has made my relationships stronger, my love for life fuller, and
has helped me to let go of a lot of baggage that we all tend to
carry too long.
Through
all of this, comfortable, painless sleep was one of the hardest
things for me to achieve. I'm a side-sleeper and I was having a
hard time with it. My arm would pull my shoulder forward, causing
my scar to bunch up. This in turn caused pain and discomfort in
my shoulder and scar area. I tried to sleep on my back but always
ended up on my side. I tried many different pillows, but none helped
for very long.
I
knew that the only way I would find comfort would be to create my
own sleeping device. I knew that it needed to keep my shoulder up,
my arm supported and away from the sensitive areas, and yet still
be soft and flexible. After many months of trial and error, I finally
hit on the right design and the Rest Easy Comfort Pillow was born.
Although
the pillow can't alleviate all of the hurt that comes with this
disease, it can help to reduce the amount of pain while also providing
both physical and emotional comfort during treatment and recovery.
Created
and used by someone that does know what
you're going through.
